New Moon in 25 Pisces 10, March 15, 2010 at 5:01 pm, EDT
This New Moon in Pisces, the Fishes, finds us back on daylight savings time (as of yesterday), and ready to begin a new week on what can be a productive Monday, and perhaps even the start of a quite productive month, if we make the most of a string of conjunctions, beginning with New Moon itself at 5:01 pm EDT. First begin by cleaning up any loose ends from the lunar cycle now coming to a close. It may be time to let go of what hasn't been working for you—clear the decks for a new start. Then,as the time
New Moon arrives, be alert for inspiration. Intuitive, creative ideas may emerge with the Mercury conjunct Uranus that perfects at 5:41 pm. This aspect could also reflect some sudden, perhaps surprising, news. Moon will then conjunct Uranus (7:38 pm) then conjunct Mercury before going void of course at 8:01 pm. Relax and reflect, then, into the evening and be ready to go with your new plans during tomorrow's energetic Moon in Aries. Moon will oppose/square the ongoing Saturn-Pluto square Tuesday morning, and Sun applies to conjunct Uranus. All this suggests changes to be made, like it or not, so it's best to accent your own initiative. Here's a little Pisces New Moon ritual that might assist your focus:

Ritual for New Moon in Pisces
For a solitary meditation to set your path for the new lunar cycle, watery Pisces into fiery Aries ,let's try a little water and candle magick. You'll need a bowl of water and a candle. With mood music in the background, invoke your favorite Goddess of the Sea to aid you intuitively. Light your candle with an invocation to your favorite Goddess or God of Fire and gaze into the flame. Tip the candles so that wax drips into the water, where it will form shapes. Let your imagination be free as you divine from those shapes what it is in your life that could benefit from the changes that can come of the aspects of this New Moon. What do you need to be free, and charged with new energy? Let it happen! As you gaze at the shapes and it becomes clearer what you can and will do to spark your new ideas and the changes to come then commit to that course of action. Thank the deities, extinguish the candle and gather up the drippings. Take them to a place outdoors where you can bury them, then walk away not looking back. Sprinkle all the water freely into the air until it is gone, while you chant:

What's past is past,
I am now free!
Changed and charged
With energy!

Crescent Moon, 14 Taurus 04, March 19, 2:59 pm EDT
Mercury, planet of thought and communication, continues to be extra active. Soon after that conjunction to Uranus at New Moon, he's now sped into fiery Aries, then to a standoff opposition with Saturn yesterday morning. Lunar energy now steadies with in Taurus, but Mercury heads toward a square to Pluto at 4:16 am tomorrow.Deep thinking may be required. Be honest and direct—with others and with yourself.

Spring Equinox. Ostara, March 20, 2010 at 1:32 pm Sun 0 Aries 00
Sun into Aries heralds the first day of Spring, though less than light-heartedly in his approaching opposition to Saturn. Moon in Gemini is busy, restless. Set your intent for the season beginning and brighten this day by celebrating Ostara!

First Quarter Moon, 2 Cancer 43, March 23 at 7:00 am EDT
This is the phase of action, but we may be best advised to not rush into it first thing this morning. Moon moving into any cardinal sign just now must intially encounter the "heavies" currently hovering around the zero cardinal axis. It's the world axis, reflecting much larger issues that matter to us all...but we do have the power, with awarenss, to avoid some of the edginess of quickly passing lunar aspects such as this morning's Moon square Saturn, then Sun, then oppostion to Pluto. Still, this is the phase to move ahead with with New Moon intents...but, realize that everyone's emotions may be more exposed with Moon in Cancer, so be gentle with yourself and others.

Gibbous Moon , 21 Leo 04, March 26 at 4:26 pm EDT
Energy builds toward Full Moon, and the week improves, too, with Moon's movement in to Leo. Likely we'll be feeling more productive during this phase and can progress in our work (and maybe also enjoy some weekend socializing).

Full Moon, 9 Libra 17, March 29 at 10:25 pm EDT
It's Monday. The day may begin with less than the ideal of Libran balance. Moon entering the cardinal axis again, so opposite Uranus, then conjunct Saturn, and square Pluto. Later in the day, as Full Moon approaches, ritual can help us achieve the inner balance of Libra...

Ritual for Full Moon in Libra

For meditation, I adapted this Charge of the Goddess from the Libran Full Moon ritual that I wrote for my book, The Witch's Circle:

Life is full of opposites, light vs. dark, hot vs. cold, noise vs. silence, just as tonight the Moon opposes the Sun, Libran peace vs. the Arian warrior.  Shall opposites be but sub-categories under the opposing headings of “good” or “bad?” Some would have it so, yet I would challenge you to name any that would remain under the same heading in all the cycles of your life.  It is easy to see why such opposites as wet and dry each  need the balance of the other, but some opposites are not so easy to reconcile—war vs. peace, for example.  There are no easy answers, none that are absolutely “right” for all, at all times and in all places.  I am both light and darkness, and I am within you and within the Earth on which you stand.  I say to you that the answer is Balance.  Assert yourself, when you must, to restore harmony.  Compromise, when you must, to restore harmony.  Fighting to totally destroy the opponent, or compromising to the point where your own spirit is destroyed only tip the Scales to the opposite extreme.  No one outside yourself can truly tell you what is “right” or “wrong” for you—the answer lies within.  One thing I can tell you: when you are in balance, life flows easily.  So, if you are experiencing great effort or difficulty, ask yourself what in your life is out of balance.  Then fix it!  Need help? Look within.  There you will find me, spurring you on with fiery energy to charge forth when that is what is needed in your life, and helping you to think through the ways and times in which compromise and diplomacy are the better options.
As you gaze at my candle of harmony and balance, focus on true balance within, knowing that as you achieve it within yourself, that energy will flow outward for greater balance in your world.  Speak these words:

As above, so below; as within, so without; as the Universe, so the soul.

Use the meditation within a candle ritual—use a light blue candle. This can be done solitary or with a group. Cleanse and charge the candle with salted water (Earth and Water), and Fire and Air (pass candle through incense smoke. Anoint it with oil. (Recipes for appropriate incense and oil follow.) Light the candle and gaze at its flame as you read and meditate on the above Charge (speak aloud or not as you choose, but understand it as your message from Goddess for this Full Moon).
If you are working with a group, pass the candle around the Circle from hand to hand. As each person holds the candle, everyone focus on that person, visualizing that he or she have true harmony and balance within and without.

Disseminating Moon, 27 Scorpio 40, April 2 at 8:41 am EDT
Moon in Scorpio can be moody, and with its final aspect to Neptune, maybe more so. Realize that and be thus less likely to evoke bruised feelings, yours or anyone else's. Moods can lighten for some weekend fun with Moon into Sag. This is the phase to "spread the word" and share what you know...but others may be feeling that way, too. This could mean lively arguments,if opinions differ. Try to keep it light.

Last Quarter Moon, 16 Capricorn 29, April 6 at 5:37 am EDT
Pluto turns retrograde today, at 5 Capricorn, to slowly return toward closer square with other outer planets near the 0 cardinal world axis. Saturn retrogrades back in Virgo tomorrow. These two outer planets are emphasizing a longer transformative process, involving increased responsibilty for those of us with personal planets in the very early degrees of Capricorn, Cancer, Aries or Libra, or the very last degress of Virgo, Pisces, Gemini or Sagittarius
The general mood of the day is pragmatic, economical and calling for organization. The lunar phase calls on us to recognize and face up to what is passing away, or is no longer useful. A good thing to do now—and we could make it a ritual—is a house (or office) cleaning. Clear the clutter, discard what is no longer needed then organize what should be keep where it can more easily and quickly be found. This is an activity where I can do well to follow my own advice! So, if you do it, visualize me working with you!

Ritual for Last Quarter Moon in Capricorn
First do the work to clear your clutter and organize your things. Then ritually cleanse the area with Earth and Water, Fire and Air. Finish by carrying a white candle around the area, as you call upon the blessings and assistance of Goddess to maintain the new order you've created within your space and within yourself!

Balsamic Moon, 5 Pisces 33, April 10 at 9:00 am EST
Moon begins this final phase of her cycle with a string of softly lovely aspects through the most of the weekend, so enjoy! Saturday can be social and enjoyable. Sunday, though, from afternoon into evenng finds Moon heading toward conjunction to Uranus and opposition to Saturn, so avoid overdoing or overreacting, with kindness toward self and others, tonight and Monday morning. With Moon into Aries, 9:31 am Monday, EDT, moods become more upbeat, and activites go well. Finish up loose ends and "clear the decks"—New Moon in Aries is almost here!
