New Moon in 2 Sagittarius 37, November 25, 2011, 1:10 am EST
Solar Eclipse, 2 Sagittarius 43 at 1:19 am EST

Moon squares Mars then moves toward conjunction with retrograde Mercury in Sag, which is in House 3 of communi-cation, but closely conjunct the 4th house cusp, thus in opposition to, but also ruling the Midheaven in Gemini. The eclipse point (Sun & Moon) in House 3 is at the point of a T-Square to Mars in House 12, and Neptune-Chiron in House 6. In a mundane chart, Ruler of Midheaven and Sun both represent the President. Mars is in grand trine with Jupiter in House 8 and Pluto in House 4. Significant news is likely, still, whether one primarily perceives the news as the T-square (challenging) or the grand trine (harmonious) may be a matter of opinion. Whatever it may be, we always have a measure of personal choice. Be kind to others & yourself!

Ritual for New Moon & Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius
A solar eclipse in this sign of high ideals and of "shooting for the stars" can be a great time to magically and ritually set your intent toward a cherished goal. Create your aura and focus for this rite by setting candles on your altar (or perhaps into the ground in an outdoor ritual area) to indicate the retrograde Mercury (representing you and the goal (Midheaven), and also the T-square and the grand trine. You could use a yellow or gold candle for Mercury, red candles for the T-square and blue candles for the grand trine. Mars is both, how about a red candle with a blue ribbon around it? Some recorded background music in a meditative mood would also be helpful in creating the atmosphere.

Light the yellow candle, then Invoke God and Goddess. Ask their presence and assistance toward your achievement of your goal. Light the candles of the T-square. See yourself with Sun-Moon (God-Goddess). Look to Neptune-Chiron and face whateve sense of confusion or weakness you may be holding in regard to achieving your goal. Then face Mars, your ability to act, to work, to do...think it through, and ask the Lord and Lady of Sun and Moon to help you see what you need to change. Hear them: Probe within fearlessly. If changes must be made, make them. If attitudes or habits hold you back, banish them! The Power is within you! If your goal is not worthy, let it go. If it IS, then know that the power is within you to reach it. Do what you must! Probe within...the answer is within you!

Listen to the voice within, and as you begin to sense the answers that you need to hear, then light the candles of Jupiter and Pluto, thus creating the grand trine. Commit yourself to the new steps you'll be taking to achieve your goal. Feel the power (Pluto), the sense of action (Mars) and the expansive idealism and benefic aura of Jupiter. Thank God and Goddess, Sun and Moon, then conclude with these words of power:

By magick rite, by changes made
My path is clear, new light I see!
By magick rite, my goal be blessed
This is my will, so mote it be!

Crescent Moon, 21 Capricorn 02, November 28 at 10:07 am EST
I can't say this looks like an easy Monday, with the only aspect ahead the Moon square Saturn at 6:02 pm, not to mention that retrograde Mercury. So, be kind to yourself and others, and try not to overreact if others are not as astrologically savvy. You can actually improve the day through your consideration for others.

First Quarter Moon, 9 Pisces 52, December 2 at 4:52 am EST
Its the phase for action, but with Moon in Pisces, not so...people may actually be feelng rather blue, more stressed than usual, or well, stuck. Part of this is the season...so much to do, so little time, and then there's the economy, too, down for everyone at this time of major holidays so nearly upon us. If you are feeling any of this, here's a meditative First Quarter ritual you can do alone that might help your mood, and by extension the moods of others. It's a meditation to begin your day:

Stand before a mirror. Try a few expressions and look at yourself—a grumpy frown, a sad sigh, a grin, a pleasant look, a big smile. Think about it...how do you want others to see you? Each of us is, in a way, a mirror for each others, and it is our choice whenever we encounter a "mirror" whether we just react or whether we choose to be an initator and thus seek to improve that which is reflected back to us. Now close your eyes, take a deep breath, stretch, exhale and then look into the mirror again with your most pleasant smile. Chant this charm:

Throughout this day to all who see
A welcome mirror I pledge to be
Reflecting back good energy
Of kindness, peace, serenity.

Now, stretch again, exhale, relax and smile, resolving to not be upset by the actions or words of any tired or stressed people you encounter, but instead to reflect kindness back to them. Take the initiative to be an image for others that will raise their spirits, and surely your spirit will soar as well!

Gibbous Moon, 29 Aries 02, December 6 at 7:37 am EST
A possible note of confusion or tiredness can begin the day, but once Moon has moved on into Taurus at 9:34 this morning, the theme changes and this can be quite a productive day..as can tomorrow. Get things accomplished.

Lunar Eclipse, December 10 at 9:31 am EST
Full Moon in Gemini at 9:36 am EST, 18 Gemini 11
Uranus turns stationary direct in the early morning (2:05 am) of this day of Lunar Eclipse at Full Moon. Issues of change and upheaval that have been on hold for awhile (reflecting the Uranus-Pluto square) may begin to resurface in the news (and perhaps in your personal life, especially if you have factors in your own chart in the early cardinal signs. Mental and communication overload could charge the atmosphere.

Ritual for Lunar Eclipse/Full Moon in Gemini
Here's a Full Moon self-healing and inner peace ritual that may be just the thing for centering and relaxation—things that could be most welcome at this time.

Gather some nice bath salts and brew a cup of herbal tea. If you're able to first go out and see the Moon, reach up and draw down her energy, feeling it flow through your body down through your raised arms to your toes. The draw Earth energy up through your feet, your body, to your upraised arms and send some back to Lady Moon in thanksgiving. Now draw a nice warm bath, play some meditation music nearby, and turn off your phone ringer so you won't be bothered.

Before you enter your bath, draw a pentagram over your tea cup, saying:
Power of Goddess in this tea
Sends healing power into me
With love and peace, so mote it be!

With bath salts in your hand, draw a pentagram over the bath water, saying:
Moon-charged salts this water bless
Bring healing power into me
Withlove and peace that I will share
As I go forth, so mote it be!

Cast in the bath salts and then with your teacup nearby where you can reach it, sink into the bath and relax. Feel any tensions of the day and past days soak away, safe and protected in the watery womb of Goddess. Sip your tea and welcome feelings of relaxation, peace and serenity as they grow within you. See yourself as holding this peace within you so that it radiates from you in all encounters with those you meet in the days and weeks to come.

Disseminating Moon, 7 Leo 05, December 14 at 5:47 am EST
Mercury turned direct today, and this is the phase to communicate and share. And, Leo likes to do that!

Last Quarter Moon, 25 Virgo 44, December 17 at 7:48 pm EST
Lunar energy winds down, and the phase of "crisis of consciousness" begins, in Virgo, a sign in which one might seek perfectionism—a high hurdle, that. Avoid being too hard on yourself. Just do what you can to bring projects to completion.

Balsamic Moon,14 Scorpio 10, December 21 at 4:59 am EST
The final lunar phase of this cycle occurs in Scorpio, natural sign of the eighth house of death....but also of rebirth. Complete what needs to be completed, and realistically can be completed now. A new solar year is soon to begin. Let go of the old and open yourself to the new...like our Sagittarian centaur, shoot your arrow to illuminate that shining star of new hope! Merry Yule!

Winter Solstice—Yule: Sun 0 Capricorn 00, Moon 26 Scorpio 01 at 12:30 am EST on December 22, 2011
This is the ancient holiday celebrating the rebirth of the Sun. Neopagan holidays see the sequence of the Sun God's birth, growth, development to manhood, marriage, realization of maturity, acceptance of the need forsacrifice, death and then birth again through the 8 seasonal Sabbats. From this longest night of the year, the Sun will rise on Winter Solstice morning to begin a new solar year. Nobody knows for sure when the Christ child was truly born, but this special day in the yearly cycle of Nature is surely the basis for the choice of this time of year for Christmas. It had long been the time to celebrate the birth of new Light for the world.

We like to line our circle all around with candles on the eve of Yule and in our nearby town of Exeter, many volunteers line the streets of the town, and we always enjoy going there to see the lights. Each candle is safely placed in the center of a small paper bag filled with sand, and they burn for hours, in vigit for the rebirth of the Sun, the Son! Hallelujah!
